Building Protection Zones

Our building protection service is available to both residential, rural and investment properties needing protection.

All property owners are required to reduce the risk of bushfire. By getting us to prepare your buildings and property and create building protection zones, your chances of surviving a bushfire are greatly increased. To increase your safety we create a circle of safety around the building to create the protection zone.

We follow the requirements and suggestions as set out by DFES as well as as other methods appropriate to your property. These include:

• Create a 20 metre circle of safety around your home and other buildings by clearing all rubbish, long dry grass, bark and material that may catch fire.

• Prune lower branches (up to two metres off the ground) to stop a ground fire spreading into the canopy of the trees.Clear vegetation along the boundary of your property to create a firebreak. Make sure you meet your local government’s firebreak requirements.
• Cut long grass and dense scrub.
